As she followed the shows from town to town, she portrayed the dancers on stage and off. Meiselas' frank description of the lives of these women brought a hidden world to public attention. Produced during the early years of the women's movement, Carnival Strippers reflects the struggle for identity and self-esteem that charactrized a complex era of change.

Scarce. - "Susan Derges' work is an inquiry into the rhythms and cycles of nature, and the relationships between inner and outer, mental and physical, subjective and objective experience. Exploring both the elemental and metaphorical properties of water, mercury, shadow, ice, tree branches, and tadpoles, her photograms visualize the unseen orders of science, the music of matter, and the interplays of process and organic form. Using sound wave vibrations to align powder into different geometric shapes, her Chladni Figures (1985) evoke the speeding paths of atomic particles. In Hermetica (1989) she places mercury at the vertex of a speaker cone, producing photograms resonant of shell patterns. Perhaps the most dramatic series presented is The Observer and the Observed (1991), in which sine waves shape a small jet of water into an arc, and then, illuminated by a strobe light, each drop of water becomes a small mirror reflecting a human face." Anlässlich des 50. Todestages des Fotografen Hugo Brehme (1882-1954) am 13. Juni 2004 realisiert das Ibero-Amerikanische Institut PK eine große Retrospektive seines Werkes. Brehme, in Eisenach geboren und seit 1908 in Mexiko-Stadt lebend, gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Fotografen Mexikos und Lateinamerikas in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Sein Einfluss zeigt sich in der Arbeit namhafter Fotokünstler wie Tina Modotti, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Henri Cartier-Bresson und Gabriel Figueroa, dem später erfolgreichen Kameramann. Brehmes Werk umfasst vor allem Landschaftsaufnahmen, Architektur sowie Alltagsszenen, auch aus dem politischen Leben Mexikos, vor allem zu Zeiten der Mexikanischen Revolution (1910-1917) sowie aus den 20er und 30er Jahren. Dadurch entstand ein facettenreiches Bild Mexikos, das einen großen Einfluss auf die Wahrnehmung durch das Ausland, vor allem Deutschland und der USA, hatte. Das Ibero-Amerikanische Institut hat in seinen Beständen rund 360 Fotos des Künstlers, alle Vintage Prints – eine Rarität, da sonst in erster Linie Negative des Fotokünstlers erhalten sind. - Nur Kurztitelaufnahme 11.2005.
