Richard Tepe (1864-1952) was among the first in Holland to stress the importance of environmental protection. He started out just before the new century and was one of the first to specialize in many genres of nature photography. He was a major figure in Dutch photography, only to sink into oblivion after his death. Christiane Kuhlmann puts a fresh perspective on this important photographer by reconstructing his life and works.
