Text engl. - Printed by Meridian. - Olmsted was a landscape park designer during the latter half of the 19th century. Among his best know work is Central Park, NYC. Friedlander was commissioned to photograph the parks by Phyllis Lambert, then founder/director of the Canadian Center for Architecture (other commissions went to Bob Burley and Geoffrey James) in 1989.
