Text engl. - Der "Hasselblad Award" wird manchmal auch als Nobelpreis für Fotografie bezeichnet. 2008 erhielt ihn Graciele Iturbide. Aus diesem Anlass ist eine umfassende Retrospektive des Werkes erschienen. Seit etwa 1970 ist Iturbide mit Dokumentarfotografien bekannt geworden. Wie bei vielen lateinamerikanischen Fotografen tragen die Aufnahmen eine starke Symbolik, so dass bereits dadurch die Nähe zur Kunstfotografie gegeben ist. Im Werk Iturbides wird diese durch Stillleben deutlich, in denen der Einfluss Manuel Alvarez Bravos zu spüren ist. Auch die Bekanntschaft mit Frieda Kahlo hat ihre Spuren im Werk Iturbides hinterlassen. Der neue Band beleuchtet alle Aspekte des Werkes und bringt auch neue Aufnahmen Iturbides. (N. Buch.
