The book contains some reproductions of daguerreotypes later discovered as fakes (s. Stefan Richter in The Newsletter of the Daguerreian Society, vol. 4, no. 2, March 1992, p. 1). According to this two Paris views on p. 111 and 113 are 20th century copy daguerreotypes from images originally made by Baldus, while the image on p. 117 - an Amsterdam channel - is also a modern daguerreotype but copied from an albumen cabinet card-sized albumen print photographed by Pieter Oosterhuis in 1868.
