Text dt., engl. - Die Publikation beschäftigt sich mit den Werken von Foto-Künstlern, die etwa ab 1870 angesichts der drohenden Gewalt gegen jüdische Mitbürger nicht mehr länger in Österreich arbeiten konnten. Die erste Auswanderungswelle fand noch vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg statt, das Ziel hieß in den meisten Fällen USA. Mit dem Zuschlagen der Nazis wurde eine zweite große Auswanderungswelle ausgelöst. Nicht alle Künstler verließen Europa »über See«, auch Paris oder Großbritannien wurden zum Asylort für viele der Vertriebenen. (Frölich & Kaufmann, Berlin, 07.2007).
