Text engl. - Wild Track is the first book of poems by Mark Haworth-Booth. He is best known for his career as chief curator of photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum, a position from which he retired after 34 years service in 2004. In addition to his curatorial work, Mark has been publishing poems nationally over the past 20 years. As well as appearing in such magazines as The Spectator, New Statesman, London Magazine, Literary Review and Poetry News, Mark' s poems were part of the Big Wide Words series on London buses and he has read at the Voice Box, Royal Festival Hall. - His poems are about art, family, fashion, food, living in London and remembering friends. These vignettes of modern life are sometimes crisp and tart, often poignant. This is an artist's book - a remarkable collaboration between the poet, TRACE and nine artists: Mary Banham, Christopher Bucklow, Susan Derges, Emily Haworth-Booth, Mari Mahr, Rosie Miles, Liz Nicol, Nigel Shafran and Tessa Traeger. There is also a picture by Mark himself. The resonances between word and image make this a very special publication. Integral to the project is the mini CD at the back of the book, in which Mark talks about what fired his beginnings as a writer and the poets who inspire him. He also introduces and reads a selection of the poems.
