Parr has long been fascinated by Communist countries, and by their artifacts in particular. This small but perfectly presented selection of six color images vividly depicts a range of food - from a plate of luncheon meat to a gloriously decorated cake - together with the necessities of life: a toilet roll, a bar of soap, a (dripping) Ì tap. An original print, tipped-in, makes up the seventh still life. The photographs were taken between 1999 and 2002 in Cuba, Latvia, Lithuania and Kazakstahn. Not all these countries are still under Communist rule but the subjects of Parr's still lifes still survive. Martin Parr is a Magnum photographer whose work has been extensively exhibited and published worldwide." - Kleines Buch mit rosa Pappeinband, kein Text, alle Infos im Impressum.
