Text engl. - Title page printed in red and black with arched photograph of Scott's Monument at Edinburgh. With14 additional photographs by Thomas Annan (mounted on heavy paper with tissue guards) of the castles, abbeys, palaces, etc. that figured in Scott's epic poem of the climactic battle between King James IV of Scotland and English troops in 1513. This battle resulted in the King's death and heavy losses among the Scots. Thomas Annan (1829-1887) is noted primarily for his Scottish architectural studies and urban street scenes of Glasgow.
