Bilingual gr./engl. monograph published to accompany a large survey exhibition of the same title, part of the 1996 Photosynkyria photography festival in Thessaloniki, Greece. A much smaller publication served as catalogue to the exhibition. The extended essay discusses some theoretical aspects of landscape photography as well as considering the development of the genre in Greece during the 19th and 20th centuries.
Text engl. - „Four years ago Belfast Exposed commissioned Kai-Olaf Hesse to photograph Belfast's shipyard Harland & Wolff on Queens Island, and various sites related to the building of HMS Titanic. To establish a visual line between the past and the present for the publication, Hesse photographed many of these key historic buildings and sites from the same viewpoints as the accompanying historic photographs documenting the modern shipbuilding project during the city's industrial height. Including essays by David Bate, John Stathatos and Ian Walker and quotes from interviews conducted by Ruth Graham with former shipyard workers and members of the Ulster Titanic Society.“ (rrbphotobooks, 11.2012).
