Limited-edition portfolio of eight signed and numbered prints. BAMart Photography Portfolio II participants, who represent some of world’s most important contemporary artists, provide a cross-section of current photographic styles, forms, and concerns, marking the present limits of fine art photography production. Produced in an edition of 40. The sheet size of each print is 24 x 30 inches, signed and numbered by the artist. THE ARTISTS: Photographer JOHN BALDESSARI, born in California, has been subject to much praise throughout his extended career. Baldessari has received numerous awards for his work, some of which are the California Governors Award for Lifetime Achievement, the College Art Associations Lifetime Achievement Award, Spectrum International Award for Photography of the foundation of Lower Saxony, Germany, a Guggenheim Fellowship as well as the Oscar Kokoschka Prize, Austria. His artwork is developed by using distinct collaborations of fragments of mixed media combined to make one piece of art. These mediums include photographs, film stills, newspapers, magazines, and artwork. Renowned photographer LILLIAN BASSMAN was born in New York in 1917 and began her career as a painter in the 1930’s. After discovering a love and talent for photography, she had an extensive career as a fashion photographer at Harpers Bazaar where she made her name in the 40’s and 50’s. She has received numerous awards internationally and has had exhibitions throughout the world. VANESSA BEECROFT was born in Genova, Italy in 1969 and now works in New York. She is a graduate of Academia di Belle Arti, Brera. Her first exhibition was in 1994 in Milan and in the same year she showed at the Andrea Rosen Gallery in New York. She has also exhibited at the Guggenheim as well as the prestigious Galerie Deux in Tokyo. Beecroft uses a variety of mediums to accomplish her ideas, including photography, painting, sculpture, and video art. She is recognized for her influential feminine expos in an otherwise male dominated field. WILLIAM EGGLESTON was born in Sumner, Mississippi and attended the University of Vanderbilt in the early 1960’s. In 1976, he had a solo show at MoMA, where his ability to capture the existence of functional objects of daily life was highlighted. Long considered a pioneer in the field of color photography, he has done extensive work in the American west, Georgia, Louisiana, Kenya, Egypt, England, Germany, and Austria and has published numerous books including “William Eggleston’s guide”, 1976; “The Democratic Forest”, 1989; “Faulkner’s Mississippi”, 1990; and “Ancient and Modern”, 1992. SALLY MANN was born in Lexington, Virginia, where she still lives and works. Her landscapes of many southern states have won her acclaim among her colleagues as well as admirers. Mann has acquired various awards including Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships. Her photography books published include “Immediate Family,” “At Twelve: Portraits of Young Women;” and “Mother Land: Recent landscapes of Georgia and Virginia.” Her photographs are established in the permanent collections of many renowned museums including the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. New York born artist, SHEILA METZNER , graduated from the Pratt Institute in 1961. Her work has been shown in major galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art, The International Center for Photography, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as in numerous private collections. Her work has appeared in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Conde Nast Traveler, and in clients such as Bergdorf Goodman, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, and Fendi. In 1999, she received the Pratt Institute Herschel Levit Award. German-born THOMAS STRUTH, began his photography career in the mid-1970’s. His works have been exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Museum interiors, cityscapes, and individuals are among the subjects in which Struth focuses his work upon. German-born and London-based photographer WOLFGANG TILLMANS is known for his documentation of young culture. He studied at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design and has exhibited in New York, Madrid, Tokyo, and London. He won the prestigious Turner Prize award in 2000. His recurrent themes of hope and death, sickness and life, and heaven and hell are all representations of how his work spans and attracts many different genres of cultures. (Antiq.
