Text engl.

Baldessari has received numerous awards for his work, some of which are the California Governors Award for Lifetime Achievement, the College Art Associations Lifetime Achievement Award, Spectrum International Award for Photography of the foundation of Lower Saxony, Germany, a Guggenheim Fellowship as well as the Oscar Kokoschka Prize, Austria. His artwork is developed by using distinct collaborations of fragments of mixed media combined to make one piece of art. These mediums include photographs, film stills, newspapers, magazines, and artwork. Renowned photographer LILLIAN BASSMAN was born in New York in 1917 and began her career as a painter in the 1930’s. After discovering a love and talent for photography, she had an extensive career as a fashion photographer at Harpers Bazaar where she made her name in the 40’s and 50’s. She has received numerous awards internationally and has had exhibitions throughout the world. VANESSA BEECROFT was born in Genova, Italy in 1969 and now works in New York. She is a graduate of Academia di Belle Arti, Brera. Her first exhibition was in 1994 in Milan and in the same year she showed at the Andrea Rosen Gallery in New York. She has also exhibited at the Guggenheim as well as the prestigious Galerie Deux in Tokyo. Beecroft uses a variety of mediums to accomplish her ideas, including photography, painting, sculpture, and video art. She is recognized for her influential feminine expos in an otherwise male dominated field. WILLIAM EGGLESTON was born in Sumner, Mississippi and attended the University of Vanderbilt in the early 1960’s. In 1976, he had a solo show at MoMA, where his ability to capture the existence of functional objects of daily life was highlighted. Long considered a pioneer in the field of color photography, he has done extensive work in the American west, Georgia, Louisiana, Kenya, Egypt, England, Germany, and Austria and has published numerous books including “William Eggleston’s guide”, 1976; “The Democratic Forest”, 1989; “Faulkner’s Mississippi”, 1990; and “Ancient and Modern”, 1992. SALLY MANN was born in Lexington, Virginia, where she still lives and works. Her landscapes of many southern states have won her acclaim among her colleagues as well as admirers. Mann has acquired various awards including Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships. Her photography books published include “Immediate Family,” “At Twelve: Portraits of Young Women;” and “Mother Land: Recent landscapes of Georgia and Virginia.” Her photographs are established in the permanent collections of many renowned museums including the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. His works have been exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Buch
Lindemann Stuttgart, 02.2009). - Nur Kurztitelaufnahme 02.2009.
