Nur Kurztitelaufnahme 04.2004. - Die beiden Künstler wanderten im August 1997 ununterbrochen quer durch downtown Manhattan zum Flughafen JFK, auf der kürzest möglichen Linie. Dabei entstand, Rücken an Rücken, eine Serie von Bildern, die keinem Bezugsrahmen unterliegen als dem vorher abgesprochenem Konzept. [Text at Schaden.com:]

Text engl. - „Kurz nach der Katastrophe des 11. September 2001 wurde das Gelände für die Abriss- und Aufräumarbeiten weiträumig abgesperrt. Nur Feuerwehrleute und Bauarbeiter durften Ground Zero betreten und ein Fotograf: Joel Meyerowitz. Seine fotografische Dokumentation dessen, wie aus den Ruinen des World Trade Center eine plane Fläche wurde, liegt nun in Buchform vor. Der Abriss der Trümmer des World Trade Center war eine unfassbar gigantische Aufgabe, die jedem der Beteiligten alles abverlangte und dies nicht nur in körperlicher, sondern auch in seelischer Hinsicht. Paris 2006. - „Die bemerkenswerten Bilder in diesem Band sind die einzige fotografische Dokumentation der Ereignisse unmittelbar nach den Attentaten des 11. September 2001. Direkt nach der Sicherung des Geländes rund um die Trümmer der »Twin Tower« wurde das Gelände vollständig abgeriegelt, Kommentare zum Fortschritt der Aufräumarbeiten wurden zunächst geheim gehalten. Joel Meyerowitz hat es allein seiner Hartnäckigkeit und seinem Einfallsreichtum zu verdanken, dass es ihm als einzigen Fotografen gelang, das Gelände zu betreten. In seinen Bildern verarbeitet er die Entwicklung von einem chaotischen Berg aus Glas, Trümmern und Schutt zu einer geräumten Gedenkstätte. Sie stehen still, gedankenverloren, ins Nichts blickend, ins Gespräch mit dem Nachbarn vertieft oder mit dem Handy am Ohr: Die Passanten, die Florian Böhm (*1969) auf den Straßen Manhattans photographiert, sind alle in einer kleinen Zeitschleife gefangen und warten auf grünes Licht. Ob New Yorker aller Gesellschaftsschichten und Ethnien oder Touristen aus aller Welt, die rote Ampel macht sie zunächst einmal alle gleich. Und doch verraten Kleidung, Accessoires und Haltung erstaunlich viel über die Abgebildeten. Man glaubt zu wissen, wie sie sind und leben. Die meisten merken nicht, dass sie photographiert werden und geben sich daher völlig unverstellt. Nur wenige nehmen Blickkontakt mit dem Kameraauge auf, selten lächelt jemand, zumeist Kinder. Böhm lebt selbst seit Jahren in New York und hat bereits in dem Photoprojekt EndCommercial (zusammen mit Wolfgang Scheppe und Luca Pizzaroni) einen untrüglichen Blick für die Details urbanen Lebens bewiesen, die Geschichten erzählen.
