Complete sets of this title are rare. Ihr neuer Foto-Bildband widmet sich den beiden bekanntesten Opernhäusern in Paris, der Opera Bastille und dem Palais Garnier, zwischen deren Einweihung mehr als 200 Jahre liegen. Auch wenn die beiden Häuser so unterschiedlich sind - hier die überbordende Pracht des Palais Garnier, dort die pragmatische Eleganz, der von Carlos Otts etworfenen Opera Bastille - haben sie doch viel miteinander zu tun. War es doch die adelige Prunksucht, die zu manch pompösem Bauwerk führte, aber auch die Französische Revolution beflügelte. Deren 200. Catalogue déraisonné des têtes en l’air. Une robe de mariée, une scie circulaire, un dentier, un violon, une fourche, une boîte de papillons, une casquette de l’armée rouge, une paire de skis, une urne funéraire… L’inventaire du service des Objets trouvés – 36, rue des Morillons – ne compte pas que des portefeuilles et des parapluies! Mais s’il est une vertu des laissés-pour-compte pas comme les autres de la voie publique, c’est bien de nous faire rêver aux raisons de leur présence à Paris et aux circonstances de leur égarement. Jérôme Eagland Conquy est photographe. D’origine franco-canadienne, il étudie la photographie aux États-Unis et devient collaborateur régulier de revues telles que “Elle” et “Le Nouvel Observateur”. Depuis 2003, il dirige un atelier de photographie auprès des jeunes détenus de Fleury-Mérogis.
